Deakin Cinema Complex
93 Deakin Avenue, Mildura
Also known as Cinema Deakin
Showing films from: 1975
Four years after the Ozone closed its doors Mildura gained a new cinema. Breaking away from the main cinema thoroughfare of Langtree Avenue, a single screen cinema called Cinema Deakin opened in 1975.
Ten years later a second screen was added. By 1997 the old Masonic Hall next door had been acquired and the building was extended so it could become a four-screen cinema. It also changed its name to the Deakin Cinema Complex.
Today the largest screen at the Deakin Cinema Complex can seat 300; the smallest of the screens 156. The cinema has both digital projection equipment and also retains a 35mm Cinnamacanica Victoria 8 projector for film festivals and film society screenings.
